business

Glasgow Airport is
Scotland's principal long haul gateway, with direct flights to New York
(Newark),
Orlando, Philadelphia, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary,
Hamilton, Mexico, the Caribbean, Pakistan, Gambia and Egypt.

Glasgow Airport also has
Scotland's only direct link to the Gulf, with Emirates flying year round
to Dubai, and onwards to over 90 worldwide destinations.

Glasgow
Airport handles around 8.4 million
passengers a year. Over 30 regular airlines serve almost 100 direct
destinations worldwide.

In October 2006 BAA Glasgow
Airport unveiled their master plan to build a 'World class gateway' for
Glasgow. The £290 million blueprint outlines plans for the development
of the airport which envisages handling up to 24 million passengers a
year by 2030, more than half of them flying international, with a
forecast 3.8m using long haul services. More information

In October 2008 the £31m
"skyhub" extension to the terminal building was opened to passengers.
With state-of-the-art security screening, more natural light, more space
to relax and more choice of shops, bars and restaurants, the airport is
being transformed for an altogether better passenger experience. More on
